Playlist Playa

Martin Skelly’s Playlist Player is yet another smart design that combines your digital playlists with that heart-warming vintage vibe. The record box contains 5 different covers, which can be customized with your own favorite photos or art. Light shines through the record as it spins, and you’ll feel more connected to your music than simply pressing “play” on the old iPod.

Turn Table

Diesel obviously knows how to nail the vinyl style. They put out these dreamy bedsheets, and now there’s this coffee table with the X-ray of a DJ console printed on glass. Kind of haunting in its dark transparency, so don’t forget to use a coaster.

Vinyimals

Even if you don’t spin the stuff, vinyl could easily have a special place in your home — especially when it’s cut up into amazing little pieces. UK designer Cat Davison creates art out of 100% recycled vintage records under the banner ‘heat the beat.’ Hot indeed.

Woodness Goodness

Full disclosure: I have a pair of Timbre earphones, am a big fan of hardwood floors and love forest-filled strolls. So it should come as no surprise that I’m totally smitten by the Nixon headphones and earbuds, which use the warm wooden tones in their designs. I’m particularly fond of the Wire 8mm earbuds, because they’re so darn sleek and relatively cheap — $40 will get you these statement-making grains.

Dogs Love Music (& Photo Shoots)

These dogs, photographed by Maarten Wetsema, are more comfortable in front of the camera than most people I know. And they’re much better looking. I wonder what music was playing on the set to get these dogs posing pretty?
Ain’t No Sunshine

I’m soaking up SXSW in the beautiful city of Austin, yet alas today is totally devoid of the Texan sun. So here’s an apt video, and so beautiful to boot. Check out Benny Blanco’s remix of Michael Jackson’s “Ain’t No Sunshine When She’s Gone.”
