Vinyimals

Even if you don’t spin the stuff, vinyl could easily have a special place in your home — especially when it’s cut up into amazing little pieces. UK designer Cat Davison creates art out of 100% recycled vintage records under the banner ‘heat the beat.’ Hot indeed.

2-Minute Inspiration
Posted by admin in Art & Design, Pop Cult-ure, Sussed Out Street Style, Videos, musick on February 20th, 2010
If you’ve got a couple of minutes to spare, watch how this wall is transformed by one talented street artist. Music is a bit grating, but the graffiti is amazing. Have you stumbled upon any street art recently?

Like a Laser

A little retro with a dash of the future, these paper laser cut radios by Matt Brown use radio-frequency identification speakers and chips to share music interactively and attractively. They also can serve as sculptures and ice breakers (the conversational kind, of course).

Does this photo by Lucas Gurdjian and Susu Pusa make you hungry, nauseous or ready to put on some tunes?

Phone Bones

Colette’s adorable mascots, Caperino and Peperone, are two black critters that obviously have a flair for bone-shaped phones. These sculptural speakers cost a lot more than dog food though, so you can look but you can’t fetch these babies.

Dancing Dock
Posted by ADD K.S. in Art & Design, Pop Cult-ure, musick on January 7th, 2010
Definitely the darndest iPod dock/coffee table/personal disco I’ve ever seen. Designer Moritz Waldemeyer works with LEDs and lasers to make this digital masterpiece, which accommodates speakers, an iPod dock and a laser machine. Perfect for when you want your own personal dance party.

Stuck in the Mud

Better than a fossilized bug, these set-in-stone musical relics are to die for (yes, that was a pun). Check out Christopher Locke’s Heartless Machine, the “online mechanical mouth for the Figurative-Industrial.” Also the home of these rock solid pieces.
