FEATURED: V-MODA Vibe II

Today I had the best workout ever. And not because I chugged a protein shake, or had 10 hours of sleep (I totally didn’t). It’s because today, as I ellipticized, I was finally listening to music without it being drowned out by a perpetually squeaky treadmill. And I owe it all to my hot new V-MODA earphones, which make everything but the music just melt away.

Nice package

Nice package

I recently received a sleek pair of V-MODA Vibe II earphones in equally slick packaging (first impression counts!). The earphones are equipped with a microphone for hands-free use, but it’s very subtly integrated into the V-MODA design. What’s also surprising is its black Kevlar-reinforced fabric cable, which is such a nice departure from the typical bendy plastic iPhone earphone (and a lot more hardy). A control button lets you pause, play and flick through your tracks. I noticed early on that certain songs made it sound like I was listening in at a live concert – it’s obvious that the acoustics are top notch. Crisp highs, deep rich bass.

Super slick

Super slick

Four sizes of medical-grade silicone fittings comes with each earphone, so whether your ears are Shaq-sized or Tila Tequila tiny, you’re guaranteed a perfect fit. Sporty earhooks and 34 inches of cable also make sure that running around poses no threat to your music listening.

The kit

The kit

These babies are compatible with all Apple products and most smartphones and music phones. The microphone works with VOIP, Skype, iChat and instant messaging. For now, I’ll be focusing on listening to a range of music genres to see how they sound with the Vibe II. Electro, house, indie and rock sound so good so far…

Au noir

Au Nero

The Vibe II finally merges fashion, function and an incredible listening experience. Available in Nero (black) and Chrome Rouge for $128. Find out more about Vibe II here.

it’s not easy to drop $130 on a set of earphones, but the fact that they have a microphone built in def gives it some bang for its buck. the cord is pretty cool too.

they don’t have the impedance (one of the most important factors in headphones) posted on the site…is it on the box? I could never justify dropping 130 bucks on headphones without knowing the impedance.

Hey trolomatic – good question. The impedance of these earphones is 16 ohms.
